International Guests in the Office of the Information Society Programme18.3.2005 Office of the Information Society Programme Around the world people and different organizations have shown their interest towards the Finnish Information Society Programme. Since the start of the Programme contacts from over 20 different countries has been made to the Office of the Programme. On thursday the 17th of march visitors from Russia and Thailand became acquainted with the Programme and information society development in Finland. Visitors from eSt.Petersburg
Chief of information analytical department Alexander Demidov from Saint-Petersburg Government Comittee for Informatization and Communication visited the Office of the Programme in thursday morning. During the meeting experiences were exchanged concerning the building of the information society in Russia and in Finland. Thai Delegation from King Prajadhipok Institute
In thursday afternoon a delegation from Thailand's King Prajadhipok Institute visited the Office of the Programme. Delegation consisted of 50 Thai representatives from public administration and private companies. During the meeting in the House of Estates delegates were introduced to Finnish Information Society Programme, recent developments in the ICT field and Finnish Information Society Development Centres (TIEKE) role in building the information society. King Prajadhipok Institute is an independent public organization. Institute's mission is to promote democracy through research, education and training in the areas of politics, governance and democracy.
